With your family and friends. This inn and retreat facility where you can spend a special time
with your loved ones comfortably.
You can spend a relaxing time in a cozy private space with the goodness of "a little old folk house",
the scent of wood and carefully handmade.

is the one who appears in the fairy tale "Straw Millionaire."
Why don't you spend a relaxing time like a Japanese folk tale in the nature
and good old appearance of Hase-dera Temple in Nara?

Greetings from Amane-an!

The owners of Amane-an are an international family made up of a japanese wife/mother, a german husband/father, and two teenage sons, a Miniature Dachshund family. By way of a  little bit of background to us and our life: we moved from Kobe to Germany, where we are currently hosting HildegardFamilie, a workshop where we explore natural (and) home-made remedies. Our family loves Nara, and everytime we come back to Japan we stop by all our favourite places: Ōkami temple, Nara park, go camping at the Soni Plateau, or hiking up Mt.Nijo and Mt. Kongō, all of which might sound familiar to those of you who have read Man'yōshū. We have fond memories of Asuka-village, where we visited when our children were younger.

We love the history, culture, and nature of Nara. We have always dreamt of having a guest house in Nara, and it felt like a miracle when we came across this house. It may be a little ancient but we fell in love with it the moment we saw the moss-filled garden. We hope that you also fall in love with Amane-an in the same way that we did, and all of the other people who worked to bring this home to life. Hopefully you will be able to appreciate the beautiful Japanese architecture and culture in your Amane-an stay. The themes are "natural", "handmade" and "comfortable" and so while we have worked on this house as a family, we hope to continue this thematic journey to make your stay as comfortable as possible. All of the fittings are made from the original Nara building materials and are left as they originally once were. We kept many aspects of the house exactly as we found them, and hopefully you will feel at home among the antique feel of the traditional Japanese tools and tableware.  Please enjoy the gentle, elegant and peaceful atmosphere of Hase-dera and Nara at Amane-an We are deeply grateful for your support.
